Adding Images & Video

How to add images, photos and video to the system.

Adding Photos & Images

Before uploading images to your folder we strongly recommend you create a folder to store those images; in the long run it will make it easier for you to organize your images and create an image gallery. (See Adding Content for the steps necessary to create a new folder.)

To upload an image,

  1. navigate to the folder in which you wish to place the image
  2. click Add Item on the bar across the top and choose Image
  3. give the image a name (a short description would be nice, too)
  4. click the Browse button and select the image on your local computer
  5. click the save button to upload the image to the system

Important! Please be aware of the size of the files you upload to the system: images loaded directly from even a six megapixel camera are much larger than necessary for conventional web purposes and will do nothing but take longer to upload and slow down the page load times. We encourage you to post photos, but do so responsibly: downsize your images using Photoshop and post only what you need.

Once your image is uploaded you may flip and rotate the image by opening the image and clicking the Transform tab at the top of the window.

Adding Video

To add video to the web site,

  1. navigate to the folder in which you'd like to store the image
  2. click Add Item on the bar across the top and choose File
  3. give the file a name and short description
  4. click the Browse button and select the video you wish to upload
  5. click the Save button to upload the video to the system

Important! Please be conscious of the size and format of the file you are uploading. A fair rule is to avoid uploading files larger than 50 megabytes and try to stick to common video file formats. If you're exporting from Final Cut, see the related instructions below.
