About the course:

This course is an introduction to the study and execution of writing for multimedia.    Through guest presentations by professionals in the fields of print journalism, video production, visual communication, radio and new media, along with hands on application, a holistic understanding of techniques, technologies, culture and issues of current multimedia writing is obtained. By examining the principles and practices of multimedia, students learn how to make successful choices when producing thought provoking and compelling multimedia packages.

Winter term 2009

The goal for this term was to have student team packages featured on the Register Guard's website. Five teams were formed out of a class of 23 students. Each team was assigned a local animal rights non-profit in Lane County.

Using the techniques discussed throughout the term, each team was to create a soft news/public announcement on these non-profits.

Above is a link to each of these packages. Please visit each link for a touching multimedia story.
